Ben Horlock - Audiologist & Founder
I am Ben Horlock RHAD MHSAA, an accomplished audiologist deeply committed to delivering remarkable audiological services.
Throughout my career, I have devoted myself to improving hearing health, always underscoring the importance of a well-structured rehabilitative program. I firmly believe that merely fitting individuals with hearing aids is insufficient – an all-encompassing rehabilitation process is the key to successful outcomes for my patients.
Academic Background and Methodology
My academic journey began with a focus on occupational health, eventually leading me to specialise in audiology. This pathway provided me with a deep reservoir of knowledge and expertise in the field. My academic accolades include graduating top of my class from Aston University, where I achieved first-class honours. This rigorous education has since become the bedrock of my approach to hearing rehabilitation.
My methodology is rooted in scientific evidence but with the understanding that hearing is a deeply personal experience.
Therefore, I collaborate closely with my patients to discover a sound that is uniquely suited to them. I am dedicated to identifying the most effective solution for each patient, and exploring a range of hearing aid technologies and configurations. This methodical approach ensures we find the perfect hearing aid to meet your distinct requirements.
Proficiency in Microsuction
During my five years of practice in microsuction, I have been a first hand witness to the life-changing potential of enhanced hearing. I have had the honour of working with a diverse array of patient groups, ranging from the peaceful countryside of the Cotswolds to the bustling heart of London. These contrasting experiences have reinforced my conviction in the necessity of a bespoke and systematic rehabilitation process for each patient.
Significance of Customised Rehabilitation
I am a staunch advocate for individualised care in hearing rehabilitation. Every patient presents unique needs and obstacles, and for this reason, I emphasise the vital role of a customised rehabilitation plan. By investing time to fully understand each patient’s specific situation, we can collaborate on a personalised strategy that addresses your unique objectives and optimises your hearing abilities.
Fostering Patient Relationships
Alongside my technical prowess, I deeply value the relationships I build with my patients. I recognise that the path to improved hearing can be fraught with challenges, and I am steadfast in providing consistent empathy and support throughout this journey. By fostering a collaborative and welcoming atmosphere, I encourage open dialogue and inspire patients to take an active role in their hearing rehabilitation.
Commitment to Lifelong Learning
To remain at the cutting edge of audiology, I am unwavering in my dedication to continuous professional development. I regularly attend industry conferences, participate in ongoing education, and stay abreast of the latest breakthroughs in hearing technology. This commitment allows me to incorporate advanced treatments and innovative techniques into my practice, ensuring optimal outcomes for my patients.
A Comprehensive Approach to Hearing Health
My approach to audiology addresses not just the physical aspects of hearing loss, but also its psychological and emotional repercussions. This comprehensive care allows individuals to fully comprehend their hearing loss and rediscover the joy of clear and meaningful communication.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to impact lives positively through my work in audiology. My steadfast commitment to providing all-encompassing care, focusing on both the technical and rehabilitative aspects of audiology, lays the groundwork for improved hearing and an enhanced quality of life.
